TV watching
Feb. 8th, 2009 09:21 amAs a kid, television was my babysitter, my English teacher, my friend, and one of my favourite pastimes. I used to watch things like: Power Rangers, anything on Nickelodeon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sesame Street, and all sorts of other shows.
There was a time I thought I would not be able to function without TV. Or at least be very bored without it.
I haven't had a TV in my living space for almost 4 years now, and I don't miss it. It's really weird. Almost everyone I know talks about shows that are on and stuff, and I just feel out of the loop. I remember I had a friend in elementary school who didn't watch TV because her parents didn't let them. I thought that was so bizarre and I wondered how she spent her free time. She liked to read.
Perhaps my love for the internet has to do with why I'm ok without TV. I seem to end up wasting most of my time doing things online vs. watching shows. Sometimes I try and remember what it was like without the internet.
I miss old shows, though. One Saturday Morning was a good program. I think I'll make a list of shows I used to watch. But not right now.
